Air Madagascar has officially reopened its Analakely sales office at 17 Avenue de l’Indépendance in Antananarivo as part of its efforts to strengthen customer relations and restore public confidence in the airline.
The reopening forms part of the airline’s recovery plan, which was initiated following the appointment of its new management team on 11 May 2026 and includes a gradual return to the Air Madagascar brand.
Speaking at a press briefing, Managing Director Rado Rabarilala said the airline’s recovery involved more than reviving the Air Madagascar brand. The objective was to rebuild a reliable, well-managed company that could contribute to the national economy and regain public trust.
The airline plans to complete its transition to the Air Madagascar brand within six months of the management team’s appointment, with the change expected to take effect from 31 October 2026. The transition encompasses operational, organisational, commercial and financial changes, rather than simply a change of name or visual identity.
Work is under way to improve internal processes, strengthen customer relations, consolidate strategic partnerships, improve governance and cost control, and prepare for a gradual and controlled increase in operations.
The airline confirmed that its recovery plan had been approved and that an implementation roadmap had been established.
On the commercial front, the reopening of the Analakely office follows the reopening of its Mahajanga branch on 10 July 2026. The airline is also continuing to optimise its flight schedules and develop its route network.
Air Madagascar reported the resumption of its Moroni service, while preparations are under way for the gradual resumption of services to Réunion Island, China, Bangkok and Marseille.
Other priorities include youth training, capacity building for flight and ground personnel, fleet development and preparations for the phased introduction of the Air Madagascar brand.
Rabarilala said the airline was preparing for a responsible recovery based on realistic decisions, sound governance and its ability to fulfil its commitments.
Through its recovery programme, the airline intends to strengthen its role in connecting Madagascar’s regions, supporting tourism, facilitating economic activity and improving domestic and international connectivity.
Air Madagascar said it would provide regular updates on the implementation of its recovery plan as further milestones are reached.
