An Air Mauritius ATR 72-600 operating flight MK208 to Réunion landed at Roland Garros Airport in Saint-Denis on 14 September 2026 after a technical issue affected one of its engines. The airline says the flight crew secured the affected engine and carried out a normal landing.
The 34 passengers and four crew on board disembarked normally, and the airline reports no injuries.
Air Mauritius states that “at no point in time was there an engine fire or a passenger evacuation carried out”, which it sets against reports in local media, and says the safety and security of its passengers and team members remain its highest priority.
The aircraft has been withdrawn from service in Réunion for a full technical inspection. Passengers booked on the return flight, MK209, were rebooked on the next available service.
