The architectural and technical studies for Lot 2 of the Douala International Airport passenger terminal renovation project were reviewed by the Monitoring and Technical Acceptance Commission from 13 to 15 July 2026, at the headquarters of Aéroports du Cameroun.
The three-day technical review assessed whether the final Detailed Design deliverables, known as APD PRO, adequately addressed the expectations, requirements and observations submitted by the project’s stakeholders for the future main passenger terminal building.
During the proceedings, Commission members examined the architectural and technical solutions proposed by the project management team and evaluated how effectively feedback from earlier assessments had been incorporated into the designs.
The review also enabled the Commission to verify that the proposed solutions aligned with the operational and technical requirements identified by the institutions and organisations involved in the project.
Completion of this stage clears the way for the technical and administrative acceptance of the studies. This approval is required before the tender documentation can be finalised and the procurement process launched to appoint the company or consortium responsible for delivering Lot 2, which covers the main building of the future passenger terminal.
The review represents a further step in the RAP-AID project’s progression towards the renovation of Douala International Airport, a strategically important gateway serving Cameroon’s economic capital.
