Entebbe Handles 169,706 International Passengers in August

Entebbe International Airport handled 169,706 international passengers in August 2026, up 13,364 on July but 69,623 below August 2025, with cargo at 4,693 tonnes.

Entebbe International Airport handled 169,706 international passengers in August 2026, made up of 88,270 arrivals and 81,436 departures, an average of about 5,474 passengers a day, according to figures published by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority.

The month ran 13,364 passengers ahead of July 2026, when the airport handled 156,342. Against August 2025, when it handled 239,329, the figure is 69,623 passengers lower. The authority describes July and August as a peak period and attributes the year-on-year fall to recent travel restrictions.

Cargo through Entebbe came to 4,693 tonnes in August, comprising 2,927 tonnes of exports and 1,766 tonnes of imports. That compares with 4,799 tonnes in July 2026, a fall of 106 tonnes, with exports continuing to account for the larger share of the airport’s freight.
