Cameroon Airports Plc (ADC S.A.) has initiated a pre-qualification process for the renovation of the passenger terminal at Douala International Airport, covering the building component of the project.
The project is being financed jointly by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and ADC S.A., with both parties contributing equally. The renovation forms part of a broader modernisation programme for the airport terminal, which also includes an equipment component. The main tender is expected to be launched in the second quarter of 2026.
The scope of work includes both expansion and refurbishment of the terminal. The building will be extended by approximately 25,000 square metres to accommodate a new baggage handling system, baggage claim facilities, check-in areas, passenger and cabin baggage screening zones, and a new central boarding hall.
In parallel, refurbishment works will be undertaken across a similar surface area of approximately 25,000 square metres. These works will cover the public hall, check-in areas, jetways A and B, baggage claim areas, arrivals security and border control zones, airside offices, and VIP lounges.
The project encompasses a full range of civil, structural and systems works, including foundations, reinforced concrete superstructure, demolition and decontamination, steel structures and roofing, waterproofing, façade systems, fire protection, HVAC systems, electrical installations, vertical transport systems, plumbing and sanitary installations, and interior finishing.
The pre-qualification forms part of a larger programme that also includes equipment procurement and the construction of an aircraft parking area, with the selected contractor expected to coordinate with other project components to ensure integration across the development.
The pre-qualification process is open to companies based in Cameroon and internationally, with submissions required in either French or English.
