Dr Sameh El-Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, has issued a decree appointing Captain Sameh Mohamed Fawzy as Acting Head of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, succeeding Captain Amr El-Sharkawy.
The Minister expressed his appreciation to Captain El-Sharkawy for his efforts during his tenure as Head of the Authority and wished him continued success in his future career.
Captain Fawzy brings more than 37 years of experience in civil aviation. Prior to his appointment, he served as Deputy Head of the Civil Aviation Authority for Air Safety Standards. He has held several leadership and supervisory roles within the Authority, participated in aviation accident investigation committees, and contributed to international inspection activities.
In addition, Captain Fawzy has served as Vice-Chairman of the Executive Council of the Arab Regional Working Group on Passenger Data Security and as Chairman of the United Nations Transport and Liaison Committee. He has approximately 17 years of practical experience within the Civil Aviation Authority and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Sciences and Military Sciences, as well as a diploma in Air Safety.
